USS Cleveland (LCS-31), the U.S. Navy’s newest Freedom-variant littoral combat ship, was officially christened and side-launched into the Menominee River at Fincantieri Marinette Marine in Wisconsin on 14 April 2023; however, the launch did not go entirely as planned when the ship made unintentional contact with a tugboat assisting the maneuver, sending a large wave over the smaller vessel and causing minor damage. | History Vault Archives
