At midnight on April 26, the historic Johnson Public Library building started its 0.4-mile move to its new home — in an area less prone to flooding. A group of contractors, utility workers, town employees and volunteers stayed up all night to ensure the 156-ton rig cleared Vermont’s Route 15 by 6 a.m. The crew completed the complex project successfully, despite inclement weather and obstacles along the way.
