How to make patchwork on a cake. I have used this technique on a few cakes over the years and especially on my sewing basket themed cakes. I use Saracino modelling paste for the patchwork. I used royal icing to create the white stitches attaching the patchwork pieces together and for the little stitches along each edge of the ‘fabric’ I used a PME stitching tool.
