California Division of Forestry/Department of Conservation produced this documentary-style film in 1974 that shows the various elements of the aerial firefighting program in California at that time. Today, many of the firefighting aircraft models shown in this film are no longer in use. This reel highlights the supportive role aircraft play in fire suppression, as well as the process of discovery, reporting, location plotting, and dispatch for aircraft.
