I really struggle to spot a gastropod when they’re sat in the clay as I always think they’re the unfortunate victim of cliff falls and mud slides from recent times rather than fossils and often don’t think to check them. It was only the more calcite nature of the exterior of this one that made me turn it over to find hard stone in the aperture. If you saw it on the beach you would think it was a recent inhabitant of Earth (though I guess it is in geological turns, at a young 190 million years ol
