Here is our beautiful 1948 Hattersley Domestic Dobby loom. As far as we know there is only one other loom of this type in the world still in production, and it is in New Zealand. The manufacturer that built it, claimed to have invented the dobby, ie the mechanism on top of the loom that lifts the shafts in 1867. It’s probably the way we’ve tuned it but when you stop, very occasionally the dobby will skip to the next lift meaning the pattern is wrong when you restart… hence my upward glance at th
