New robotic technology at the Mitchell Cancer Institute allows physicians to see directly inside the lung, biopsy hard-to-reach nodules, and evaluate tissue samples immediately. This is a huge advantage in the diagnosis of lung cancer in Alabama, which has the lowest five-year survival rates for this disease in the nation.
