WFP warns of imminent end to food aid in Somalia without new funding
The UN's World Food Programme (WFP) warned Friday it would have to stop humanitarian assistance in Somalia by April if it did not receive new funding.
The UN’s World Food Programme (WFP) – considered the world’s largest humanitarian organisation – was at the forefront of the global response to the devastating Ethiopian Famine of 1984 and 1985, during which more than a million people died.
Cindy McCain announced she is stepping down as head of the World Food Programme, citing health issues and calling the work "the honor of a lifetime."
