Savannah Guthrie said she and her family have been "in agony and despair ever since" her mother Nancy's disappearance in February.

To mark 6 months since Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance, Savannah Guthrie shared an emotional message to Instagram. It came the day after the Sheriff’s office released the ransom notes in full.

The “Today” host said that her family hopes “to find out what happened to her” so that they can have “a celebration of her remarkable life that she so deserves.”

Investigators hope the notes' "distinct linguistic characteristics" may be recognisable by a member of the public and lead to a suspect.
